Vancouver Chapter Boxing Day 2009
Boxing Day 2009 dawned cold, icy, and
foggy, but as the morning passed the fog began to lift and the day
turned into quite a nice one. About 50 cars gathered at the
MacMillan Science Centre for the Vancouver Chapter's annual Boxing Day
Run. The years of the cars ranged from the early teens right up
into the 70s. As well as a good showing of Fords, Cadillacs, and
Packards, there was a wide variety of makes from North America, Europe,
and Japan.
The tour left the parking lot at 11:00 AM and headed downtown and
around Stanley Park, continuing the tradition begun by the auto clubs
of over 100 years ago. After leaving the park the group headed to
the truck museum in Port Coquitlam, where hot coffee and snacks were a
welcome treat and everyone had a chance to view the interesting
vehicles on display.
Thanks to those Vancouver Chapter members who worked to make this event another successful day.
